The goal of the Post Graduate Diploma in Cyberpsychology (PGDC) curriculum is to learn and develop professional skills so as to understand the interplay between human psychology and contents in the cyberspace. There is an ever-increasing reliance on technology in the modern world. Technological developments present us with new and exciting opportunities for making our lives more comfortable, sate, easy and tun. However, emerging technologies can also hinder our interactions with others and the world around us. Cyberpsychology is the study of persons in the context of human-technology interaction. As a developing field, cyberpsychology research encompasses a host of psychological phenomena associated with or affected by emerging technologies. While some researchers emphasize the computer in computer-human interaction, a defining characteristic of cyberpsychology is that the human takes precedence over the computer. The programme aims to better understand the psychological impact of engaging with the Internet and consider both the positive and negative aspects of being online. The course aims to promote anin-depth understanding of how humanswith technologyand in online (virtual)Environments. It will cover diverse aspects of the interaction between the individual and the internet including the manner in which being online affects how we present ourselves to and communicate with others, how language has evolved in the online world and the manner in which relationships are formed in cvberspace.
