Modern world is all about automation, speed, accuracy, and reliability of the systems. The second biggest import after petroleum is semiconductors, that includes Integrated circuits, System on Chip (SOC), wide taxonomy of embedded systems and processors. A country that is so import-dependent on electronics and automation technology becomes vulnerable to security threats. This vulnerability is successfully being addressed by the government with Indian Semiconductor mission (ISM). As soon as the technology comes across the social interface, the probability of exploitation and misuse becomes pronounced. This leads to the need of framing robust legal framework and the establishment of the transparent criminal justice system with respect to this semiconductor technology indigenization of the nation. Development of Semiconductor Forensics at National Forensic Science University (NFSU) would be the revolutionary step towards the technological development and sustainability of the semiconductor Industry, Trust among the foreign technology transfer processes, well equipped and updated law enforcement agencies and to deal with the technological frauds. In the present scenario of semiconductor technology, trojan hardware and malfunctioning has emerged as the potential threat to security. Thus it becomes mandatory to design a course for a human resource development that would be available to cope up with the threat scenario of semiconductor hardware security
